Directions: Research and create a poster explaining the biome of the place you want to visit.
A biome is a large naturally occurring community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat.
Types of biomes:
 Tundra
 Boreal Forest/Taiga
 Deciduous Forest
 Grassland/Savannah
 Desert
 Rainforest
Steps 1: Research to see which biome your
vacation place includes.
Steps 2: Create a poster that includes the
following things:
1. The climate of the biome
 Annual precipitation
 Annual temperatures
 How does the climate affect the organisms that live there? Include 3 organisms
found in your biome and describe their specific adaptations for survival in the
biome. Include these organisms on your poster.
2. Describe the abiotic factors in your biome
 What sources of water are available in this biome (lakes, streams, rivers, marshes,
etc.)
 Soil: Describe the physical traits of your biome (mountains, flat, rich soil, sandy,
muddy etc.)
3. Draw a food web for the biome (biotic factors)
 List 3 plants and 5 animals found in this biome. Identify the energy role (producer
or consumer) and identify the type of consumer (herbivore, carnivore, omnivore,
decomposer, scavenger, or parasite).
 Draw a food web using these plants and animals (add more if needed) with at least
three food chains Interconnected. Make sure to go through at least one secondary
consumer in each food chain.
4. A map showing location of the biome in the world
**This can be handwritten or created on the computer.**

1. Take a picture and email it to me.
2. Take a picture and send it to me through Remind 101.
3. Save as a file and email it to me.
