Pom Poms

Supplies:
2 skeins Baby Alpaca Grande by Plymouth Yarns
(110 yds per 100g)
US size #9 – 16" circular needle
US size #10.5 – 16" circular & double pointed needles
- or size required to obtain gauge
Extra Large Faux Fur Pom Pom
Cable needle, Stitch marker, Darning needle
Gauge: 3.25 sts = 1"
Size: Adult medium, 19" around (stretches larger)

Special instructions:
C4F (Cable 4 Forward) - Slip 2 sts to cable needle and
hold at front of work. K2, then k2 from the cable needle.

Directions:
Cast on 72 sts. Place marker and join for working in
the round, being careful not to twist stitches.
Work *k1, p1* ribbing until work measures approx.
3 ½" from cast on edge.
Begin cable pattern.
Rounds 1-5: *K1, p2, k4, p2* repeat to end of round.
Round 6: *K1, p2, C4F, p2* repeat to end of round.
Work Rounds 1-6 six times total, ending after
finishing Round 6 (work measures approx. 12" from
cast on edge).
Round 1: *K1, p2tog, k4, p2tog* repeat to end of round.
(56 sts remain)
Round 2: *K1, p1, k4, p1* repeat to end.
Round 3: *K1, p1, ssk, k2tog, p1* repeat to end. (40 sts)
Round 4: *K1, p1, k2, p1* repeat to end.
Round 5: *K1, p1, ssk, p1* repeatto end. (32 sts)
Round 6: *K1, p1, k1, p1* repeat to end.
Round 7-8: *K2tog* repeat to end. (8 sts)
Break yarn and use darning needle to draw through
remaining sts. Pull up tight and fasten off securely on the
inside of the hat. Weave in ends. Wet block and lay flat to
dry, lightly shaping as needed.

Begin decreasing for crown, switching to double Attach pom pom to top of hat. Enjoy!
pointed needles when necessary.
