Demographics summary

 The influence and power of the clergy in Continental Europe is not already considered as a
major power.
 The St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome is the sole center of Christendom.
 A counter reformation movement has been established by the clergy.
 Reinvention of the papal authority in the face of the challenges of the Protestants.
 Many of the old buildings built during the Middle Ages has been retrofitted and given Baroque
style Façades.
 The interiors are upgraded to conform to the “modernizing” trend of Baroque.
 In Renaissance church architecture, the society favored the Greek Cross plan, in Baroque, it was
changed to be in accordance to the Latin Cross plan.
 St. Peter’s Basilica has undergone numerous extensions and upgrades.
