I would first think about the type of service I am going to offer.

After that, I would think about creating

my company name and logo. Since I will be providing construction operations, the logo must describe

something related to it. I would choose an image that gathers both construction knowledge and

expertise. Then, I would figure out what type of promotional material I should use. I believe that the

most potent means are the internet (web page) and social media. However, I would also use paper-

based promotional material such as flyers, brochures, and would buy a spot into a construction

magazine. I would use the logo in every one of them.

Then I would sponsor some community events so I can be locally known. Going to school and

universities would be an excellent idea too. And to go further, the next step would be to attend an

important construction event to do some networking, meet people who are related to construction, give

them my business cards and find new customers. It would also be a great opportunity to find

subcontractors and/or suppliers who would fit to work with me.

For achieving all of this, I believe it is needed to improve selling skills. It is essential to listen more than

talk so you can figure out what are the customer’s needs. I would need to prioritize those customers

with more potential. However, it doesn’t mean that the other customers will be left behind. I would

create a chart or database containing contact information to keep tracking on them because the

purpose of the company is to retain actual customers and work with new ones.

Finally, now that I know what my customers seek, I would show them the strongest characteristic of the

company to demonstrate to them how the company can meet their needs. I would show them photos

and descriptions about some past projects, areas that we focus on, our experience, and our capability to

execute significant projects.
