He was an American and British poet and

residence in London. After working as a teacher and a bank clerk Eliot began his publishing career.
In 1925 he was employed by the publishing house of Faber and Faber, eventually becoming one of
its directors.

British novelists of the 20th century. After graduating from Cambridge college, Forster lived in
Greece and Italy. During World War I he joined the International Red Cross in Egypt where he
served. In 1946, Forster became an honorary fellow of King's College, Cambridge, where he lived
until his death in 1970. He received the Order of Merit in 1968.
