REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

This chapter will present literature reviews related to _____(state the topic)__ or

problem. Literature and studies presented in this chapter contains information,

concepts, theories and findings that are contributory and fitting for the selection and

development of the theoretical framework of the study.

Sub-topic 1 (general concepts/theories related to the particular field of endeavor; at

least 5 reviews – I paragraph per review, author, notes and quotations
should be properly cited/acknowledged using parenthetical
documentation)

Sub-topic 2 specific concepts/theories related to the particular field of endeavor; at

least 5 reviews – I paragraph per review notes and quotations should be
properly cited/acknowledged using parenthetical documentation

Sub-topic 3 other related topics/subjects that are contributory in the formulation of the
framework and search for solutions to the problem

Sub-topic 4 other related topics/subjects such as procedures, characteristics,

application of theories that are contributory in the formulation of the
framework and search for solutions to the problem

Synthesis

In writing the review, these are following essential information you should not miss if you are
reviewing a research literature:

1. What is the research all about? The specific topic?

2. How did the author/theorist used/applied the idea in his research? What is the
research design?
3. How the study was conducted/ how the theory was applied?
4. What kind of data analysis was employed?
5. What are the major findings and conclusions?

This chapter can be presented in two forms:

1. Topical – reviews are categorized by topics; sub-topics are presented on the level or degree
of its relevance on the problem/issue under study.
2. According to Type/Category: reviews are grouped according to:

2.2 Conceptual Literature and Research Literature
