At the onslaught of COVID 19 pandemic the Psalmist reminds us that “the Lord is good and his

love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psalm 100:5). This verse
underscores three important points for us to ponder. Firstly, the Lord is good. It means that His
goodness is constant which means that no pandemic or any natural or man-made calamities could
change the goodness of the Lord in the life of His people. As the saying goes, “God is good all the time
and all the time God is good’! Despite our circumstances the truth remains that God is GOOD!

Secondly, His love endures forever which means that it is unstoppable. Paul attested to it when
he said’ “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present
nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to
separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”. Romans 8:38-39. This is how
dependable God’s love for all of us.

Thirdly and finally, his faithfulness continues through all generations. What an assurance that
his faithfulness continues through all generations. I believe that like us the Psalmist had his own
difficulties and struggles also when he wrote this psalm and for sure in all his struggles he had also
experienced the faithfulness of God that helped him overcome his circumstances in life. The assurance
that this verse would like to tell us in our battle against COVID 19 is that the same God who have been
faithful to his people in the past will also be faithful to us in this trying moments in our lives. With God’s
help we will overcome. Yes, COVID 19 is here but God’s goodness, love and faithfulness is also REAL that
is presently working in and through us! May God’s comforting presence be upon us all!
