Strategy
Highly Reliable Mission-Critical Networks
We are not talking standard telecom carrier, IT / enterprise equipment or solutions !

It is not about:
• Data Center environment
• Constant temperature of +25°C with 40% humidity
• No dust
• Continuous airflow
It is about:
• Outdoor environment
• Outside temperature of –25°C to + 55°C with up to 100%
humidity
• Dirty air
• No airflow
• Stringent electromagnetic compatibility (substation or
traction current)

Nevertheless we are transporting 10GbE and STM-16 with extremely high reliability for connectivity

MLI Mine Location Intelligence
− ABB Mine Location Intelligence supports tracking of any kind
of assets that are capable of being positioned.
− Location data is obtained via integration with external
systems such as WiFi networks and RFID readers.
− All WiFi clients, visible to the WiFi network, can be located
− IP telephones can be used to track personnel.
− WiFi tags are used on vehicles and personnel. WiFi tags from
Airista (Ekahau) or Extronics (Aeroscout) are normally used
− Access systems can be based on WiFi tags or on active RFID
tags. 3rd party access system based on active RFID tags can
be integrated

− Approximately 60 bytes beacon messages

− 1% of network capacity utilization (blink mode)
