“In this article it states that LIDC imports/ exports has grown in the last decade, but it still

only

takes up about 3 to 4% of world trade (Ruta, 2015). There are multiple reasons why that is the

case, one of the most prominent reasons being the high trade costs between G20 countries and

LIDC companies. G20 companies are the main target of import and export for LIDC countries,

with approximately 70% of imports in LIDCs coming from G20 nations and about 80% of LIDC

exports going to G20 nations (Ruta, 2015)”
