Lesson Idea

Title: Edpuzzle
Grade Level: 6-8
Content: Mathematics
Standard Addressed: MGSE6.RP.3a Make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-
number measurements, find missing values in the tables, and plot the pairs of values on the coordinate
plane. Use tables to compare ratios.

Amount of Time: 10 minutes

Technology Standard Addressed: 3- Knowledge Constructor
SAMR Level: Modification
Essential Question(s): Are you able to construct a probability table with dice probability? How
many different possibilities can there be when rolling two dice?
Learning Activity: The students will watch the Edpuzzle video and learn about the probabilities
of rolling two dice. After the video we will come together as a class and talk about what they
learned and I will have students come to the board and fill out a probability table.
After the students have filled out the whole probability table they will break up into
groups and roll dice. As the roll the dice I will have them record 10 rolls and see how well it lines
up with the probability table.

• Introduction: I will present on screen the Edpuzzle video about dice probability.
• Instruction/Activities: After the video they will fill out the dice probability table. After they
fill out the table they will break into groups and roll dice 10 times.
• Final Product: After they roll the dice 10 times, they will look at the probability table and
see how it compares to their own rolls.
• Evaluation or deliverable: This will be a completion grade I will have every student come to
the board at least once to fill in the probability table.
Reflective Practice
Instead of using dice probability I could of used a coin and we can see the probability of getting
3 heads or tails in a row.
