No. 3390411/2020/M3, Dt. 18.03.2020 & 24.03.2020 cod The attention of all the Commissioners of Urban Local Bodies in the State are invited to the references cited. In the reference 1* and 2" cited, Government have issued guidelines for filling up of 70888 Ward Volunteers @ one around 50/100 Households in all the Urban Local Bodies to ensure leak proof implementation of Government Programmes/Schemes. 2. In the reference 3" cited, instructions were issued to all the Commissioners of Urban Local Bodies to take the preventive measures for containment of COVID-19 (Corona virus) and among others, the Municipal Commissioners were directed to utilize the services of the Ward Volunteers and Ward Secretaries to conduct door-to-door survey and create awareness among the public by explaining the precautionary measures to be followed by the households and disseminate IEC material, identifying the persons with symptoms, foreign returnees etc.3. However, in certain Urban Local Bodies, some Ward Volunteers are absent/irregular in attending duties and some ward volunteers have resigned their job, during the crisis of outbreak COVID-19 and due to which the work is hampered in the field and the Municipal Commissioners are expressed their inability to cope up the work. 4.
