It is Sunday morning. Steve is in his garden. Today it is a fine day. On fine days Steve works
hard in his garden. He cuts the grass. But when it rains he cannot do that. He stays at home and
reads a book. Sometimes his friends come to visit him and they talk, play the guitar and sing.

Mrs Smith goes shopping every morning. She generally goes to a big supermarket. There she
can buy everything. She doesn’t like small shops. Today she wants to go downtown because it
is her daughter’s birthday and she wants to buy a nice present for her aunt. She always
remembers people’s birthday and she always buys nice things for everybody.

My name is Bob Jones. I always get up at seven o’clock and I have a shower. My sister Sue
doesn’t get up at seven o’clock. She sleeps longer because she is a baby and she stays home
with my mother.

After I eat my breakfast I walk to school. I have lessons in the morning but I don’t have any
lessons in the afternoon. So I don’t take lunch at the school canteen. I go home for lunch.

My friend David lives next to me but I don’t see him in the afternoon because he has lessons
and so he stays at school. We only meet a little time before dinner and when the days are fine
we play football together in the park.

Peter is an intelligent young man. He works hard and he loves what he does in his office. He
knows exactly what he wants. He never arrives late at the office. He works from 9 a.m to 6
p.m. he sometimes stays at the office until 7 p.m.

When his secretary arrives he reads and answers all important letters. At weekends he goes to a
country club. He generally plays tennis and swims. In his spare time he also studies Japanese.
He wants to go to a Japanese firm.
Ex 62

Kevin Brown goes to London by train with his friend Mark every week. They always get out at
Victoria Station and they say goodbye. Today Kevin is late so he doesn’t walk to his office but
he takes a taxi. The taxi goes fast. Then a car comes round a corner and runs into the taxi. Some
windows break and the taxi stops. Kevin is very late and nervous. When he arrives he doesn’t
speak to anybody. He simple sits on a chair and drinks a cup of coffee but he doesn’t work that
morning.
