Ethnobotanical survey of medicinal plants used by Aeta in
Barangay San, Buhi, Camarines Sur
INTRODUCTION The richness of the Philippines biodiversity was proved by more than 12000 plant species in the country. Traditional herbalist of the indigenous people used around 1500 of it for traditional medicine. Indigenous communities in the Philippines have been using plants as remedies for several diseases.
Ethnobotanical surveys were conducted in different Ayta
communities in other Provinces of Central Luzon such as Pampanga.
Significance of the Study
This study will determine the herbal medicines used by the Aeta living in Barangay Santa Teresita, Iriga, Camarines Sur. The result of ethnobotanical survey in the said community can be used as authentic record of medicinal plants as well as conserved list of reference in the future.
