PIPPINHEART (Stylecraft Special DK, 3 mm crochet
hook)
LOBE 1 OF HEART (in Shrimp)
Starting from the top of the lobe
Rnd 1: Start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around [12]
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, inc in next st) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4-5: Sc in each st around [18]
After Rnd 5, si st in next st and fasten off leaving a long
tail.
LOBE 2 OF HEART (in Shrimp)
Repeat as for Lobe 1 of heart. However, after Rnd 5, do
not fasten off as we will now work into the body of the
heart.
BODY OF HEART (in Shrimp)
Continuing from Rnd 5 of Lobe 2
Rnd 6: Sc into the st after the sl st made at the end of
Rnd 5 of Lobe 1 (Picture 4). Sc into each of the
next 17 st around Lobe 1, then sc into each of the
next 18 st around Lobe 2 [36]Picture 4
Rnd 7: Sc in each st around [36]
Rnd 8: (Sc in each of next 4 st, dec) x 6 [30]
Sew the gap between the two joined lobes closed by
using the long tail left after Rnd 5 of Lobe 1.
Rnd 9: (Sc in each of next 3 st, dec) x 6 [24]
Rnd 10: (Sc in each of next 2 st, dec) x 6 [18]
Rnd 11: (Sc in each of next 4 st, dec) x 3 [15]
Stuff the heart firmly with polyester fibrefill.
Rnd 12: (Sc in each of next 3 st, dec) x 3 [12]
Rnd 13: (Sc in each of next 2 st, dec) x 3 [9]
Finish filling the heart with fibrefill.
Rnd 14: (Sc in next st, dec) x 3. SI st in next st and fasten
off leaving a long tail [6]
After Rnd 14, thread the tail through a needle. Weave the
needle through the front loop of each of the 6 sts, always
going in the direction from the centre and under the front
Joop. Pull the yam tail and the hole should close. Insert
the needle through the middle of the hole and pull
through the heart. Fasten off and weave the end in.6.
If you wish, you can place the amigurumi heart on the
end of a skewer.
Here, | cut a skewer to ~7.5" / 19 cm in length. You
can leave the skewer as is but | wanted to match the
colour of the skewer to that of the amigurumi heart.
To do this, | wrapped the skewer in Washi or MT tape
(Picture 11).

| then inserted the blunt end of the decorated skewer
into the bottom of the heart (Picture 12) and inserted
the sharp end into a stich on one of Pippin’s hands
(Picture 13).
