New Chemicals Buying Procedure

Policy

Chemicals may be hazardous and have harmful effects to our employees. No listed
chemicals may be bought for the use in the plant. The Risk Control Practitioner must
approve all chemicals purchase for use and an approval document must be signed off.

Procedure

Anyone wanting to purchase new chemicals for the plant must follow the following
procedure:

1. Obtain the Hazardous Data sheets for the required chemical.


2. Forward the data sheets to the Risk Control Practitioner.
3. Risk Practitioner to read through the information of the chemical and ensure it is
safe for use.
4. Once the chemical is declared safe for use, then arrangements for a sample to
brought to site for trial.
5. If the trial is successful then the Risk Practitioner must sign of the approval
document.
6. Once the approval document is signed the only the chemical may be purchased.

NB
No chemical may be brought on these premises if the above procedure is not
followed.
