Continuity editing is where the editing is constant and is uninterrupted meaning the audience
always knows what is going on in the shot.
Eyeline match is where the two characters interacting will remain focused on each other so the
audience knows who both people are talking to.

degree rule...
Match on action is where the editor cuts from one shot to another shot matching the action in the
first shot, for example: if a guy is walking in the first shot you could cut to the next shot of another
man walking. This keeps the audience interested and wouldn’t distract them meaning they don’t
realise the cut.

What are Dissolves used for?
What is the purpose of a Fade In or a Fade Out?
Dissolves are used to show a change in time or place and it gives the audience the feeling that
someone or something has moved in time or place.
A fade in or fade out are used normally to symbolise the end and also beginning of a scene In a film
this is to show the audience that the scene has ended and a new one is beginning.
A wipe is similar to the fade in\out and shows the beginning of a new chapter. A wipe is different
because it will come across or down the screen a fade in is still and just fades away/in.
What is a Match Cut?
A match cut helps match two elements of different shots together showing a relationship between
them.
