Evaluation

Overall, I am really pleased with this shoot. I created some really good images that convey my
meaning very well, which is to give my audience a new perspective/viewpoint of modern architecture,
also in a spacious way. All the images I produced in this shoot have been clear to the human eye that
I used a looking up perspective which is good because this hasn’t been the case in all my shoots for
this project so far.

Something I did a lot better at in this shoot than previously is using different framing techniques, some
of my images are framed to have a lot of empty space, some less and some equal and balanced
parts of occupied space and empty space. This variation is really good because it shows me what
works best for my meaning and what I should continue with in the future. I definitely think I should
carry on framing my images so they have either a lo of empty space or balanced amounts of
occupied and empty space as these are the ones that feel the most spacious and therefore convey
my meaning a lot better.

Within this shoot I also did some experimentation which I think was very helpful, as it taught me how
humans can manipulate space. Even though I manipulated the space artificially, this can be applied
into real life, for example claustrophobia. People with claustrophobia can be a pretty large space but
manipulate their mind into thinking the space is actually really small and confine. I think the this
experimentation could lead to a deeper and more meaningful meaning that I could convey throughout
my project.

Alongside this, although my experimentation has taught me a lot about a deeper possible meaning, it
has also taught me what I prefer the look of. I prefer the experimental images I created that have a lot
more open and empty space than the ones which have more occupied space and therefore feel quite
isolating for the viewer. I want to carry on producing spacious images rather than confining images as
I think they look more pleasing to the human eye and therefore will attract a larger audience if they
were to be displayed in a gallery for example. Spacious images also allow an open mind for the viewer
which is helpful when it comes to the viewer understanding and interpreting the images for
themselves t eventually come to their own conclusions about its meaning and purpose.

In conclusion, I am really happy with this shoot and I definitely have a better idea as to where to take
the project. I will continue to produce very spacious images displaying modern architecture from a
new perspective/viewpoint which is looking up and I will possibly think about how to include a deeper
and more meaningful message in my images.
