How might working in a group affect your

writing positively and negatively (think about rhetorical elements like your credibility, your
perspective, your message, your purpose, genre, etc.)? How might working in a group impact—both
positively and negatively—your own level of civic engagement?

Group work could affect your writing because there are so many different ideas and
people could argue and not get anything done. Some people also might not be putting
as much effort as the others and that can get annoying at times and cause stress
among the group. I don’t think that it would impact my project negatively because it is
such a broad topic. The benefits of having a partner on the project are different
opinions. You can get more things done and more ideas to write about if there are more
people to help you. They can also help peer review your work and you can peer review
theirs throughout the whole thing. They can help you find sources as well because
theirs are probably going to be the same.
