It was the final match between U23 Vietnam and U23 Uzbekistan at the end of January in 2018, which
was taken place in freezing, numbing evening in China. Vietnam team worn red jersey playing under the
extreme weather on slippery turf, however, It couldn’t dishearten our warriors to fight tooth and nail for
the pride of national identity. Although our team were conceded for all 1st half and there was no
likelihood to find opponent’s net, they utilized their rare chance by a snowy rainbow free kick by Quang
Hai, which was engraved in my mind. Moreover, the match was bound to be action-packed with drama
and tension, there was near misses, bias decisions after 90 minutes in the long run. After that, 30-
minute extra time came up, it was a high time that U23 Vietnam proved for Asian that under no
circumstance did we split up even weary as they had been, the team was level-headed most of the extra
time and it was no exception toward last moments. Regrettably, a short lapse of concentration inflicted
our bitter defeat at the end of injury time. Vietnam suffered heartbreak with 1-2 loss, a poignant sorrow
permeated the whole nation, Vietnamese’s warriors can’t contain themselves in desperate attempts ,
suffused with tears in sleety rain but , be that as it may, they contributed a notable performance, which
will never fade away in not only my mind but also compatriot supporters.
