Notes:

Each customer deployment begins with an environment that contains a Default Site and a Default Control Set.

Each Site must have a control set assigned to it. Hence, the Default Site is assigned the Default Control Set.

The consultant server contains various versions of control sets that have been developed over time. These control sets
represent different environments, such as: OracleEBS, SAP and Baan. These control sets can be leveraged during the
deployment, to avoid having to “start from scratch” to properly set the rules associated with the values on each of the control
tables.

The control sets can be easily moved from the source environment to the destination environment via an IPK Import and
Export process.
Exercise 2: EXPORT Data Sources and Mapping IPK

Notes:

The initial install of a new customer deployment does not contain a Data Sources and Mapping. If not using the Integration
Tool Kit, a traditional Data Sources and Mapping will be performed.

As such, similar to Control Sets, the consultant server also contains Data Sources and Mapping Templates that can be
leveraged and used as a starting point. Additionally, the templates have been developed over time and align with various
source environments, such as: SAP, Oracle EBS and Baan.

The data sources and mapping templates can be easily moved from the source environment to the destination environment
via an IPK Import and Export process.

The objective is to isolate all changes relative to integration activities in a scenario that will be committed to the Enterprise
scenario at appropriate points of the deployment.
