Bromine Handling

1. We received bromine from suppliers with one liter bottles (3 Kgs) which are packed with
wooden box.
2. Bromine bottles stored separately in Acid storage area.
3. Bromine bottles transferred to Manufacturing area along with wooden box by Forklift.
4. Bromine bottles will be cooled before charging.
5. Bromine will be charged through addition glass flask.
6. While bromine addition reaction temperature is 15 – 20 0C.
7. Tyvek pressure suit will be worn while bromine addition.
8. Spent bromine gases will be scrubbed with caustic solution.
9. The empty bromine bottles detoxified with Sodium bicarbonate solution and Water.
