This text was written by Justas Braithwaite in 1959.

The story begins with a description of one of the

features of the school. Every Friday, students write a weekly review where they express their thoughts on
what is happening in their school life. A new teacher who has just started school is worried about how
students will perceive him. But students are only concerned that their teacher is African-American, not his
teaching skills, for them he is just transient teacher.

There are three stages in the relationship between the student and the teacher. When working with
children, the teacher understands how unmanaged they are and does not appreciate what the teacher
does for them. So he asks himself a rhetorical question that no one will answer.
