Past tense concept: The Past tense is a verb tense that is used to describe actions that have happened in a
previous time and that have already ended.
The answer to point 1 is literal a. is from the verb to be and its conjugation in the past tense: I was / You

am/is/are if it is the auxiliary verb of the present progressive and form (auxiliary verb be + verb ending in
-ing) is used to express a current action, an action in progress or an unfinished action.
have / have if it is the auxiliary verb of the present perfect, the present perfect is formed with the auxiliary
verb “have” + the past participle of the verb.
