Pre task

Teacher writes the title of the

short film “The Present” on
board and eliciting its meaning
she encourages sts to tell her
what they think it is going to be
about.

Then, she plays the first 5

seconds of the video (covering
the screen) and sts will be
asked to describe what they can
hear and who they think there
is.
After that she plays the next
2.30 minutes of the video.
Teacher draws the following
chart on board for sts to
compare the characters'
behaviour and complete it in
their folders:

Students compare their charts

in pairs.

Then the teacher plays the rest

of the video and sts answer the
following:
-Looking at your charts, will you
use the same words to describe
the characters now?
-Was that end expected?
-Why do you think the mother
gives the boy that present?
-Can you describe your feelings
after watching this video?
