The table presents the household appliance owned by British between 1972 and 1983.

Looking at the table, it is immediately evident that there is a ceaselessly increasing trend in all given
commodities. Throughout the period, while television used in families registered the highest figure,
dishwasher ranked the lowest out of all 8 examined devices.

In 1972, the percentage of households with television was 93%. This figure continuously rose to 98% by
1983. A similar pattern was witnessed in the proportion of vacuum cleaner and refrigerator, which
percentage of families endowed with is respectively 87% and 73% in 1972 and immensely surged to the
same proportion 95% in 1983.

At the beginning of the period, the percent of houses in Britain which were equipped with central
heating stood at 39%. This number witnessed a progressive increase to 64% by the end of last year of
the examined course. The change in the use of British in washing machine and telephone mirrored that
of central heating, where it started with respectively 66% and 42% and seamlessly soared to 80% and
77% in turns afterwards.

Such trend is also seen in percentage of families which used dishwasher. Dishwashers were introduced
into British households in 1978, with 3% of total UK families owning this appliance. This figure gradually
increased to 5% in 1983. It was not until 1983 did video appear with 18% UK households owned it.
