Diplomat with ambitions to (eventually) become an accomplished bushi just like his brother. 4. How would others describe your character's appearance? Typical handsome-exotic Scorpion, long black hair, black eyes, without any distinct feature. For « courtier is quite dexterous and has a friendly “face” towards everyone, always eager to help (for a price). Fine arts in every aspect is his passion even if there is a “darker” theme behind them. 5. What is your character's primary motivation? Become a weapon for his family, via his vengeance for the loss of his brother to the Crane family. Sometimes the history of the many-faced follower of the Bayushi kami, Shosuro hersel, is almost re-lived by trying to imitate his beloved older brother. Who is the person your character trusts most in the world? Used to be his brother, Ukyo Shosure, an excellent prodigy bushi of his family. After his death he trusts the Scorpion daimyo and entrusts his life to the blessings of his ancestors ~ even the founding kami, Bayushi and Shosure. Hi father to him. sensei, Kinyasu Bayushiis like aZ. What is your character's greatest strength and weakness? Since the death of his brother, he become distant and insensitive to the pain of others. The teachings of the Bayushi courtier school taught him te hide or/and suppress many of his feelings (like his grief or his hatred towards the Crane clan) and use them as a “reverse” weapon. So, his hatred become a passion to sunpass every Crane in any field (battle, court or even art) and “mimic” the best (or worst) of his opponents. His outward eagerness to be a pleasant and helpful company is but a decoy and many a time he chose to lose so as to be underestimated. 8. What does your character think of Bushido? Bushido for Kazuya is but another mask that all the other clans wear to cover their weaknesses. He feels utter contempt for Gi(Honesty) and Meye (Honor) is just a superstition for children and fools. In fact he is ready to do any dishonest action to prove his loyalty te his clan, daimyo, sensei, family and loved ones (with this order). For Kazuya only Chugo (Duty and Loyalty) exists: the justification for all his action 2. What is your character's opinion of his clan? Scorpion Clan's interests above all. Ancestors, Champions, Daimyos, all are respected figures and their call must be heard and heed their words. 10. Js your character married? His marriage is another matter that grieves Kazuya. He is married to his brother's wife though his broth beautiful wife-to-be and thein true love. His brother's death left an almost ce they were identical twins, the marriage went on, even perished. His similarity to his brother brought a smile to the broken-hearted Tomomi and his ability to assume the mannerisms of people (even better his brother's) almost made her forget that Kazuya isn't Ukyo. Does your character have any prejud The stories of his father about the Dragon clan and especially a comrade he had during his adventurous years made Kazuya to be more friendly- inclined towards the Dragon clan and especially his father's friends. Still, he is still worried about the Kitsuki investigators since they can perceive some of his lies. OF course, the hatred for the Crane clan and especially the Kakita family, bums him from the inside, The execution of his brother as a politicalcounter-attack scarred him in a karmic level, 12. To whom does your character owe the most loyalty? As said before, the Scorpion clan and its representatives are the ones that instill loyalty and duty to Kazuya. His father, Tadashi Shosuro and his sensei, Kinyasu Bayushi are the people whom he respect fisty and mostly. 13. What are your character's favorite and least favorite things? Every form of art is like air to Kazuya: Be it ikebana, poetry or even iaijutsu, everything that elevates the soul to a higher level of insight makes him feel reborn anew. For Kazya, above all of the known arts, acting is the art that has the means to become everyone, to feel everything, to merge different personalities and finally find out the true self. To better experience this art, one must come in contact with as many situations in life as possible and meet as many people as he can. Therefore one may describe Kazuya as a bon-vivant (as long as he is not assuming an identity and is himself). Quite often he hides his hands in his kimono , trying to expose as less as possible of himsell, especially when he feels upset. Grief and hatred are the emotions that governs much of his actions although he manages to suppress them thanks to his disciplined tutelage and instructions he received. Death resides already inside him, so he embraces death without a flinch. Very often he thinks that something dead cannot die, thus he constantly th meditation. He is not a death seeker per-se, but his future is not a bright 5 to deaden emotions, thoughts, and sometimes even himself by one.
