In the video, operations management is a process that involves our daily expenditures

ranging from our clothes down to our food because of the organizations that gives us all these
goods and services. Most businesses put emphasis on operations management because it is
directly related to one’s business performance. It is also involved in the decision-making of the
business which directly affects its operations, financing, planning, and many more departments.
My own understanding of the video is that operation management is responsible for ensuring that
the organization is efficiently converting its resources into a quality good or service which turns
into a profitable business flow. It is concerned with planning and predicting for the future as well
as budgeting as to how a business should spend their money.

Operations management is like a key for ensuring that a company utilizes its resources
while minimizing the wastes. In my opinion, it is a very good part of the businesses’ strategy
because putting an emphasis on the operations management would greatly improve the
performance of the overall business. This is because I think that as a business organization, one
should be able to make and offer something new to the public, feed their needs and interests, and
make money at the same time to stay in the competitive market. In today’s modern world with a
lot of advancement in technologies, learning how to be able to apply technological services and
upgrades would help in the management and work efficiency of one’s business. This will help
place value on quality and is a great step towards giving back to the community and company
success.

Every business has their own strategies and techniques for staying in the competitive
market but in my opinion, a business that focuses on their managing, monitoring, and controlling
all activities are the type of businesses that would go far and high. This is because they know
how to measure and maintain qualities that customers would go for without affecting its prices
too much. With this in mind, operations management can also be called as “the key for running a
successful business”.
