KATT
KAPPA DELTA PI
‘To Whom It May Concern:
Thave had the pleasure of working with Courtney Cepec during the past two academic years as she has served in
leadership positions of the Omega Lota Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi at the University of Mount Union. I am the the
Regional Chapter Coordinator for the Midwest region of Kappa Delta Pi Intemational. Kappa Delta Pi, International
Honor Society in Education, is committed to sustaining an honored community of diverse educators by promoting
excellence and advancing ous ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service. Ms. Cepec exemplifies each of the ideals of
the Society for which she has served as a student leader.
Ms. Cepec demonstrated the qualities of leadership in the field of education and to Kappa Delta Pi by serving as,
resident of her chapter. She has been an active participant in chapter meetings, networking events, professional
development opportunities, and service initiatives. She was responsible for implementing a chapter service activities,
planned mock interviews for teacher candidates, and organized resume workshops for furure teachers. One of her
chapter activities, a member scavenger hunt, was shared with other chapters and emulated at other universities in the
Midwest
Few undergraduate education students exemplify the ideal of scholarship like Ms. Cepec. Through her membership in
Kappa Delta Pi she has had oppostunities to present at a national professional development conference, the KDP
Convocation. She has presented a poster, participated in a round-table, and spoke duting a power talk session. She has
also partnered with faculty members on education research. In recognition of her commitment to scholarly pursuits,
she received one of the most prestigious scholarships from Kappa Delta Pi, the Stephen J. Fortgang Scholarship. Dr.
Forigang personally reviews the scholarship applications and was pleased that Ms. Cepec received the award, mecting
her in person at the KDP Convocation in 2018,
‘Asa servant and leader, Ms. Cepec fulfilled the commitment to service that is at the core of Kappa Delta Pi, Under
her guidance the chapter participated in a tutoring progeam at the Alliance Alternative School, She also was a
volunteer for the Alliance Navigators after school program. Her service activities will be greatly influential to her
future career as an educator.
T recommend Courtney Cepec without reservation in all that she pursues as part of her education career. Lam
confident in Ms. Cepec’s abilities as I have seen, firsthand, the effect she has had on the chapter at the University of
‘Mount Union and the dedication she has demonstrated as an active member of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor
Society in Education. KDP recognizes the top 20% of all teacher candidates in the United States, and of those
thousands of furate edueators, Ms. Cepec is clearly among the top.
