CASE STUDY - APOSTATE PROJECT – project methodology

Apostate is a medium sized organization in the financial sector. The Head quarter
is in the centre of the city and four other branches spread out within the city; each
branch has seven staff working in them and each has 9 work stations
Its main computerized system has to be updated.
90 work stations will have to be installed, including 4 new different types of
software. In total 102 people will have to be trained with the new software
as well.
The organization has experience of similar projects before. The furniture has
already been bought and installed.
The overall budget is £100, 000.
The Project must be completed in 25 weeks.

The Director in-charge has been to a conference where she has heard that
the best way to manage this project is by using a project management
methodology (PMM). She is keen that you use Prince2.

You have been asked to look into this:


Prepare a brief which outline the advantages and issues in is a PMM ( i.e.
Prince2) to manage such a project.
