On May 20, 1927. Charles Lindbergh became the first pilot to fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean.
From New York to Paris. This biography of Charles Lindbergh will show how he and his plane, Spirit of
St. Louis, practiced and prepared for his dream to happen. He flew for thirty-three hours across the
land, water, fog, and cities. He also kept a diary of his thoughts and feelings as he traveled. Charles
faced many fears as he flew alone for thousands of miles, but he knew that it was worth it when he
finally landed in Paris and became the first solo pilot to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

Explain how the book appeals to children, their interests, developmental levels, fun
illustrations etc. Give specific examples from the book:
This book can be appealing to children because it a picture book that talks about the true
events of a pilot. If some children like airplanes at a young age, this book would be
interesting for them to read. The illustrations play a good part and made the journey of the
pilot made It interesting with colors. The story was a short version of his journey, but children
will like it because it was short and straight to the point. At their development level, they will
understand how the pilot felt when he was sleepy flying overnight and how that happens in
real life as well.

The illustration in the book were good to show the events. This is a picture book which
shortens the story, but it can grab the reader’s attention from start to end. The story is
incredible and can move the readers. Young children would live it too because the biography
is not confusing, and the text is easy to read.
