EUTHANASIA
euthanasia. Euthanasia or mercy killing is one of the toughest decisions to make because
choosing whether you want to see your love ones suffer or just stop his/her medicine to end
his/her sufferings. If we think that it is moral to end someone lives just to stop his/her sufferings
why we just take the little chances to make him or her live, but if we put ourselves in the shoes of
the families we want to help them and the solution is stop their medication. Euthanasia and
assisted suicide are the same in terms of intention of ending life, in order to relieve suffering.
There are three types of euthanasia, voluntary euthanasia, non-voluntary euthanasia, and
involuntary euthanasia. Voluntary euthanasia is the process of ending life in voluntarily, patient
give his/her consent to their doctors to stop their medication and refusal of food, those people
who are terminally ill are engage in this kind of euthanasia. Involuntarily euthanasia is
performed when the patient was not able to give consent to their doctors. Non-voluntary
euthanasia can be made by a doctor based on their own criteria and reasoning.
person who wishes to die, it is generally defined as an act of killing a terminally ill person who
suffer a lot of pain. It is sometimes called mercy killing, but many advocates of euthanasia define
mercy killing more precisely as the ending of another person’s life with or without his or her
request. Euthanasia, on the other hand, is usually separated into two categories, passive
euthanasia and active euthanasia. In many jurisdictions, active euthanasia can be considered
murder or manslaughter, whereas passive euthanasia is accepted by professional medical
societies, and by law under certain circumstances. Some countries legalize this kind of method of
terminating the terminally ill person, many patients go to other countries just to perform this kind
of method of killing. Euthanasia is legal in Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Luxembourg and the
Netherlands. It is legal some nations, while others it may be criminalized. In some countries
there is divisible public controversy over the moral, ethical, and legal issues of euthanasia. Those
who are against euthanasia may argue for the sanctity of life. If we think that ending our lives is
the solution to stop our sufferings, should we consider first that God gave this life to us? It is not
moral to end someone lives, as a Christian we should take care and love ourselves. Imagine those
people who are terminally ill that can’t take the pain they are enduring and wanting desperately
Many in Christian countries doesn’t legalize euthanasia or mercy killing because they
value the human lives. Christians are mostly against euthanasia, the arguments are usually based
on the beliefs that life is given by God, and that human beings are made in God’s image. Some
churches also emphasize the importance of not interfering with the natural process of death. Life
is a gift from God, Christianity requires us to respect every human being. A request of euthanasia
might be the result of temporary depression that leads to wanting to end the suffering. Killing
someone is murder, no matter how much they are suffering, if a person wants to die, that could
also indicate a mental health problem such as major depression. A psychiatrist would have to
rule out emotional distress before a person would wanting to be assisted suicide. So, we are
talking about lives, human euthanasia is ethically wrong and legally criminal. Euthanasia is
banned and illegal in most countries, we should value human lives, no matter how much you are
terminally ill, or you have incurable disease, ending your life is not the solution, you must be
positive and remain strong. We must respect all human life, even euthanasia devalues human
life.
