Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to express my interest in the Registered Nurse position and residency program for
new nurses. In May 2020 I will be graduating from the University of South Florida with a
Bachelor’s in Science of Nursing and minor in Public Health. The College of Nursing program
consists of over 650 clinical hours involving inpatient care, numerous inpatient specialties, and
community health. I had the opportunity to acquaint myself to the fast paced and challenging
routine of the Emergency Department of Tampa General Hospital during my senior
preceptorship. I believe that I would be a strong addition to your team as I have quick thinking
abilities and professional yet approachable bedside manner.

In the various nursing environments that I have experienced, I have always made it a point to
acquaint myself with patient’s family members or support system to ensure they are equipped
with the proper education required to maintain a long-term care plan for their loved one after
discharge. I was also able to experience chaotic events where I remained calm and collected,
which allowed me to aid in any way possible and learn from these events. From the College of
Nursing I have greatly developed my skills in critical thinking and therapeutic communication.
During my university experience I have gained skills such as time management and productivity,
which have improved further through the nursing program.

I am aspiring to enhance my current knowledge and skills amongst an innovative, collaborative,

and dynamic unit. The facilities mission of graduating competent, quality minded, ethical
professionals to enhance patient safety in the community is a something that I would like to grow
into and achieve as a new nurse. Thank you for reading my letter, I would appreciate the
opportunity to discuss the requirements of the position with you at your convenience.
