Type of research Qualitative research methods have increasein

popularity among social science researchers during
the last three decades. This chapter introduces you
to the general characteristics of these methods and
techniques. It also draws your attention to some of
the challenges you should be aware of when you
decide to use them, and what you should do to
strengthen the quality of your work.

Phases of Reflection
the
In this stage you have to select the investing
methodology
question. It is important to keep in mind that the
topic is interesting enough to maintain the
commitment and interest of the researcher
throughout the process.

The topic may come from the daily experience of

professional practice. Finally, mention that the
preparation of the research question is done
considering the goals of the research.

Planning

Plan four important aspects for the study, the

selection of the site where the study will be carried
out, the strategies to collect the data, and the
validation strategy of the study, called
triangulation, and the preparation of the researcher.

Select the site

Where the action is performed and how the

participants will be accessed are aspects that must
be treated with great care. The qualitative research
will be carried out in the context of daily life to
which different alternatives should be considered.

Entry phase

This phase involves an approach to the

participants, knowing who is who and even
making a map of the place could be points of
departure that help the knowledge of the scenario.

By considering the various aspects that intervene in the conduct
of this research, it is classified as an exploratory study. Exploratory
because the chosen theme has been little explored and recognized,
and when even more, about it, it is difficult to formulate precise
hypotheses or of a certain generality, since nowadays in Colombia
the medium companies do not invest capital for the digital
transformation and for so increase productive efficiency and thus be
more competitive business

Type of
research
INFORMATION SOURCES
PRIMARIES: Observation; Interview managers of the companies.
The information given by the managers of each of the companies
Phases of the was obtained through their direct participation in the development of
methodology
the survey,

SECONDARY: Articles, Internet pages; Libraries, related to digital

transformation in medium-sized companies Colombia.

POPULATION AND SAMPLE

The exposed Companies of each of the collaborative work
colleagues are taken, considering as requirement that these
companies have a legal entity with an existing registry in a Chamber
of Commerce in Colombia, bearing in mind the law 905 of 2004 for
medium-sized companies.

INSTRUMENTS
The survey was used as an instrument. This survey had 25
questions, which were divided into three important factors to identify
the company in its technology sector, the first factor was recognition
of the company, the second factor was to determine how has been
its digital transformation and finally to identify its degree of
digitization.

FINAL PRESENTATION OF RESULT

According to the research, it is determined that Colombian
medium-sized companies continue to advance, highlighting a Global
Maturity Index of Digital Transformation, for this reason the
companies of the country are aware that technology becomes the
most important driver of business, it is so clear that the adoption of
technology undoubtedly becomes a factor that not only improves the
different moments of the business, but also It allows them to be
more competitive.
