Your role: You are the doctor in the medical admission unit
Problem: Wrongly gave Bblocker to patient admitted with asthma
Patient: Mr Edwards, an 65-yrs old man

Please read the scenario printed below. When the bell sounds, enter the room. You have 14
minutes for your consultation with the patient/relative, 1 minute to collect your thoughts and 5
minutes for discussion. You may make notes if you wish.

Where relevant, assume you have the patient’s consent to discuss their condition with the
relative/surrogate.

Scenario:

Mr Edwards, came to hospital due to acute exacerbation of asthma 2days ago. Unfortunately,
he was given aspirin 75mg & bisoprolol 5mg wrongly by the nurse today with different
patient with the same surname. Patient now complaining of dizziness.

Your task is to talk to the patient and explain this error and address his concerns.

Any notes you make must be handed to the examiners at the end of the station
