Dear Mrs. Williams:

My name is Kacey Costal, a special education intern from Geneva College working with Mr. McLaughlin
at Central Valley Middle School for the past few months. After receiving your approval to work with your
son, Jakavion, on his reading skills, I am pleased to say what a delight this endeavor has been. He
actively participated in the reading lessons and developed a more positive attitude towards learning.

Jakavion has made great progress the last few months. We have been working on his overall reading
skills while focusing on comprehension and motivation. Jakavion has worked really hard and his efforts
have definitely been successful. I think comprehension is still a difficult area for Jakavion, but I feel he
has made great progress. He appeared to enjoy all of the lessons I planned for him and I think he has
begun to enjoy reading more. He has grasped many effective comprehension skills that aid his ability to
understand stories he reads in class. I had him drawing for two of his lessons, because I found that as his
strength. It helped him tremendously to better comprehend the stories and passages we were reading.
It was awesome to see him work so hard and diligently, while showcasing his drawing skills.

Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to work with Jakavion. He has been a huge blessing to
work with and I will always remember Jakavion and his willingness to work hard on my lessons.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or Mr. McLaughlin by calling the school at
724-775-8200.

Sincerely,

Kacey Costal
