porch and the ramp were dedicated.
During the next few years, the Quilters donated
money to have the Sunday School repainted, a VCR and
cabinet were donated by Robert Heckman for use by the
Sunday School for educational purposes, new hymnals were
purchased for the Sunday School, and new blue and gold
stoles were made for the choir robes by Betty Lightbody. A
white and gold superfrontal, pulpit and lectern hangings,
Pastoral stole, and a burse and veil were purchased with the
remaining money from our 200th Anniversary celebration.
A new ministry for our senior members was started on the
third Wednesday of each month where our senior members
could come together for fellowship, worship, Holy
Communion and a prepared luncheon. A recycling program
was started by the Stewardship Committee. Four new church
road signs were purchased by the Evangelism Committee
and erected by the Property Committee along Route 422.
In August of 1993, an Intern Program was begun in
our parish and Seminarian Alex Walbrodt from the
Gettysburg Seminary was our first intern. Also, in 1993 a
new lighted bulletin board was purchased and installed in
front of the church by our members. The Evangelism
Committee started a ‘Tape Ministry’ and services were
recorded and delivered to our shut-ins, along with a bulletin
of the day. A Bible Bowl Team was formed and directed by
Susan Neal and our young people came home with the Synod
Trophy. New carpeting was installed in the downstairs
Sunday School/social room.
