Cooking with Fractions

Instructions:
Using multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction equations
that you find in your book, you are going to create a recipe. The
answers of the problems will represent how much is needed of
each ingredient. The requirements for your recipe are listed
below. The first thing you have to do is think of your favorite food
and find a recipe for it on google! Happy “cooking” .

Please include:
 Your name
 A title (this can be creative or just the food)
 A minimum of 5 ingredients
o ONE multiplication problem
o ONE division problem
o ONE subtraction problem
o ONE addition problem
o Use one problem of your choice
 The written equation and how to solve it
 A written copy of the original recipe
 Units (Cups, Teaspoons, Tablespoons, etc.)
 A hand drawn picture of the food
 Everything needs to be colored!

Recipe
Ingredients:
 5 1/3 – 1 2/6 Bananas
 ½ - 1/6 Cups of melted Butter
 ¼ + 6/8 Cups of Sugar
 1/7 x 7 eggs beaten
 5/3 x 3/5 teaspoons of vanilla
 5/3 5/3 teaspoons of baking soda
 ¼ 2 teaspoons of salt
 3 x ½ Cups of flour

Answers:
 4 bananas
 1/3 cup melted butter
 1 cups sugar
 1 egg beaten
 1 teaspoon vanilla
 1 teaspoon baking soda
 1/8 teaspoon of salt
 1 ½ cups of flour
