II 126 PHOneCeRY from Clavierbiichlein vor Anna Magdalena Bach, 1725 ANON (J =caa) 8 & & & & & 8 & & EF & £ £ F ‘This piece is drawn from the second of the two litle manuscript keyboard books that Bach dedicated to his wife Anna Magdalena, The Musette is ‘anonymous in the manuscript but may well have been composed by one of Bach’ sons in his youth. A ‘mausette Is a pastoral dance with a pei point in che bass (hete broken up into octaves) imitating the drone ofthe musete, a small French bagpipe. Inthe exam, the da capo should be played, but none ofthe internal repeats. Quavers might be lightly detached throughout.
