Dog Days

Gabrielle Antonette Lapinig

Laws of form we can’t maintain

Driven by life’s brittle frame
The brooding soul bears a wish of peace in her hurried state
Fickle are the instances that come in her wake

Bearing a chambered hole from within

A complex assurance she seeks on transient whims
Her sanity so paper thin
Drowned out by the merry tension abound

In her tears have pent

Constraints that are evident
With hindrances and fears, neurotic and just
Strained voices long to be discussed

Bearing an aspiration for repair

Her will falters and stumbles
Though there lies a hope in confines
Where substantial sunbeams rise
