Final Major requirement:

Research Outline Guidelines and Instructions

Write a research outline related to your Academic Program

that uses Correlation as one of the statistical tool for the
treatment of data.

The task can be done individually, with a partner, or by a

group of three members only.

Goal: To conceptualize a research that uses a correlation as

a statistical tool.

The outline must be encoded in a letter sized (8.5” x 11”)

bond paper using Courier New with a font size of 12 (Single Line
Spacing) following the given format.

The outline should contain the following:

- Proposed research title
- Conceptual/Theoretical Framework (operational definition
of the variables)
- Statement of the Problem and Hypotheses
- References

Clarification:
In a research the background is important for it will be the
basis whether or not there are really connection among the
variables, and whether or not it is researchable, but it is no
longer required to be placed in the output to be submitted due to
restriction in time. However, it is still recommended that you
think about the background to make your variables coalesce.
Remember that given the nature of correlational studies, it
is a quantitative study. Hence, rules and guidelines in writing a
quantitative researches must be observed.

The paper must have a 1” margin, all sides, and must be at

most 3 pages long (not including the space occupied by the
references).

The reference and in-text citation must follow the APA

format sixth edition.

The output will be graded based on:

Proper variables for a correlational study

Novelty of variables
Proper writing of the required parts of the research:
Research Title
Conceptual/Theoretical Framework
Statement of the Problem and Hypotheses
References
Proper format

Follow the template as given:

RESEARCH OUTLINE

TITLE: RESEARCH TITLE ALL IN UPPER CASE

AUTHOR: NAME OF LEAD AUTHOR IN THE GROUP (LAST NAME, GIVEN NAME, M.I.)
NAME OF FIRST CO-AUTHOR IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER
NAME OF SECOND CO-AUTHOR IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER

PROGRAM: Academic Program/s

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK:

Variable 1
Each variable must be under a section heading with its
alignment on the left and underlined.
Define the variable using valid and credible sources. After
which place the operational definition.

Variable 2
Each variable must be under a section heading with its
alignment on the left and underlined.
Define the variable using valid and credible sources. After
which place the operational definition.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM AND HYPOTHESIS:

The aim of the study is to ….

The following research questions will be explored:

1. What is…?

REFERENCES:

UC adapts the American Psychological Assosication (APA) format

and style, so follow the latest APA format and style.

Leave a space after every reference and don’t forget that your
sources must be credible and at most 5 years old, if not,
then at most 10 years old.
