BIOGRAFÍA DE INÉS MELCHOR HUIZA

Good evening this time our group are going to talk about Ines Melchor Huiza.
She is a Peruvian athlete, she was born on August 30, 1986 in the province of
Huancavelica, Peru. However, later she moved with her family to Huancayo due to
terrorism, where she studied elementary school at the San Francisco de Asís school and
secondary school at the Virgen de Cocharcas school. She finished her law degree at the
Universidad de los Andes, although she left it in 2010 because She dedicated himself to
athletics full time.
Her competitions throughout her life are:
 Inés Melchor, 12 years old, was first in the national championship in the children's
category, her first tests were 1500 meters and 3000 meters.
• She debuted in 2000 with a silver medal in the 3,000-meter test of the South American in
Bogotá.
• She won two gold medals in the South American Athletics Championship, in Lima 2009
in a race of 10000 meters).
• She won a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, 5,000
meters.
• In 2012, she competed in the Seoul International Marathon, where she reached the
2h30m04 mark.
• London 2012 Olympics, Inés Melchor finished 25th, with a time of 2h28m54s, she was
the first South American to cross the finish line.
• In the United States, she won the silver medal in the Miami Marathon, (21 kilometers).
• Gold medal, Santiago Marathon, Santiago de Chile 2017 in the marathon race.
• In 2018, she took gold at the South American Games in Cochabamba in Bolivia, 10
thousand meters.
