Before anything else, we create some inlets; we w ill use the inlet object, w hich
is the eighth object on the palette, for th is purpose (as seen in fig ure IA.24) .

We add two more inle t objects at the top of t he {random-minmax] w indow ,


and also an outlet (ninth on the palette) at the bottom, and t hen we verify that
the patcher object box in the main window now has t hree inlets and an outlet
(as in fi gure IA.26). Note that inlet and outlet objects, as we add them, dis-
play numerical labels that correspond to a progressive order.
