1. IN FEW SENTENCES, CAN YOU TELL US WHAT YOUR STUDY IS ALL ABOUT?
ANSWER:
This study is all about the effects of smoking ban which is under the RA 9211 also known as
Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003 in the Philippine economy base on the perceptions of local
citizens. Aside from the effects of the said law, the researchers also aim to identify which fields
will most likely be affected.
11.WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE IF YOU WERE TO CONDUCT THE STUDY AGAIN?
ANSWER:
If the researcher will be given a chance to conduct this study again, respondents will be the
economists and tobacco farmers if possible. Aside from that, there will be no more other changes
unless if the respected panelists and other professionals will give their humble insights for
revisions.
The results of this research may vary in terms of the personal profile of the respondents like the
age, gender and the occupation.
14.WHAT ARE YOUR RESEARCH QUESTIONS?

The research questions of this study are as follows:
1. What will be the effect of smoking ban in the economy of the Philippines?
2. Does the respojndets have enough knowledge about smoking ban?
3. Which fields will possibly be affected by the implementation of smoking ban?

RESEARCH DESIGN
- The researchers will use the descriptive method of research in which the use of previous facts
and studies will be the main basis and sources for the study.
RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY
- The respondents of this stuff will be the selected residents of Southville-VI, Brgy. Kay-Anlog,
Calamba City, Laguna. There will be 300 hundred respondents which is about 3.34% of the town's
estimated population of 12,000 individuals. The respondents will be selected without specific
characteristics or profile. Also, the researchers will entertain volunteer respondents.
RESEARCH LOCALE
- The study will take place at Southville-VI, Brgy. Kay-Anlog, Calamba City, Laguna. The town
has an estimated population of 12,000 individuals. The place is a relocation and housing project
spearheaded by the National Housing Authority to provide housing for the Calamba City's
residents and other neighboring cities.
SAMPLING METHOD(JANTZEN)
- The researchers will make use of a research made questionnaire to acquire data. The results will
be treated using the Likert scale where the indicators will be rated with the scale of 4 as Strongly
Agree, 3 as Agree, 2 as Disagree and 1 as Strongly Disagree.
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
- The researchers used the Social Cognitive Theory in this study. It basically pinpoints that an
individual can adapt behaviors from the people in his/her surroundings. For example if smoking
ban was implemented, smokers will be obliged to lessen smoking in public places.
