First of all, why is there difference between the truth and knowledge? In the historical
method, many decisions have to be made by the historian writing the paper; they have to
decide what evidence to include and censor, what topic to write about, whose perspectives
to use and have to make inferences based upon prior experience. These decisions lead to a
large degree of subjectivity in the final paper that is published to the world and as a result the
information that the general population believe is knowledge is actually not at all close to the
real truth. But, is the purpose of knowledge to convey the truth? Is the purpose of history to
find the truth?
