Lesson Plan

Objectives:
● To introduce the piece Majestica
Procedure:
● Warm-ups
● The teacher will begin by explaining a bit of the backstory about the piece.
○ “Majestica is meant to be a musical celebration. It is meant to capture the very
magic that is music.”
○ No tempo changes
○ Point to the time signature
○ Point to the Key signature
● Teacher will have the students Tizzle and finger through the piece.
○ Percussion needs to really focus
● If we make it through
○ Students will proceed to try and play all the way through the piece.
● If not,
○ Teacher will stop and restart the group as necessary
○ Students will run the piece in chunks to allow for solid resets.

■ 65-end
● Remaining time will be spent correcting any potential mistakes made mostly focused on
rhythm especially unison rhythmic passages.
○ Measures 7 and 8 Flute, Oboe, Trombone, Tuba, Bells, Snare
● If possible, try and add in dynamics and articulations
● Teacher will pass off the lesson to next co-teacher for the next part of the class
