Seabin 5V

In 2015, the Seabin 5V Project was created by Andrew Turton and Peter Celginski. Andrew

Turton and Peter are both are passionate about the ocean waters and waste management. Andrew

Turton and Peter Celginski made the Seabin V5 be able to retrieve not only trash but also

detergents, fuel, and oils. The Seabin V5 has a pump on the bottom and a filter in the middle.

The Seabin V5 can retrieve trash from 15 feet away. The waste in the bin can retrieve up to 3.3

pounds each day. The wildlife is not in danger and only a few small fish have been caught in the

Seabin V5. The Seabin V5 are floating trash bins that are located in the marina’s ports and yacht

clubs. The Seabin V5 are collecting up to 117,647 plastics each year there are 719 the number of

Seabin’s V5, 1,952.33 kg of plastics collected daily. In March 2016, Seabin went viral and made

$276.00 all by viewers. In January 2016, Seabin V5 makes Poralu Marine their industrial partner

and distributor. In March 2016, French marina Seabin V5 get into its first pilot partnership with

French Marina, La Granada Motte. In May 2016, the Seabin V5 video stays actively viral on

Facebook, which brings in 700 million viewers in and 120k followers on Facebook. The Seabin

5V was setup in Mallorca Spain in June-July 2016. In June 2017, the Seabin V5 Project was

successful at pitching to booking.com by Pete Ceglinski and Sascha Chapman, the operation

manager for grant money for the amount of $360k. The Seabin 5V has been very successful,

however, there still plenty more ocean water indeed of our help. The Seabin 5V project needs to

be able to put more trash bins out in areas and needs more funds to help advance into the future.

Humans put our oceans and sea life in danger with this waste. It's our job to make sure to clean

the mess up.
