Library Vision and Goals

Autumn Segovia

School Librarian Position

The library should be the

heart of the school, where

educators and students

know the doors are always

open and all are welcome.

The library is a place that helps

all learners learn how to

effectively and efficiently find

information they are seeking.

A library is a place where families

and community members share

their knowledge and information

with our learners to learn about

the possibilities available to them

outside the classroom.

The librarian should

encourage curiosity about

the world we live in.

Librarians should promote academic

excellence and instill academic

integrity in their users.

Finally the librarian should share their love of

reading with their learners and staff by creating

a welcoming environment where learners can

become critical thinkers and explore library

materials.
Library Goals

Introduce a variety of information resources that

support learning and discovery.

Provide students the opportunities of discovery,

fostering their independent choice of reading

and information material in a variety of formats

Library Goals

Creating an educator-librarian collaborative

relationship to achieve both library media and

classroom instructional goals.

To foster and support the reading habits and

curiosities of students, educators and families.
