It is with great pleasure that I recommend Alison O’Bryan for the Band Director position at
Harper Park Middle School. Alison spent her first student teacher placement with me at
Dominion High School.

Over the years, I have been entrusted with five student teachers. Alison stands out as the most
career ready that I have encountered. She is driven, passionate, and committed to our profession.

Alison comes with a fine “musical pedigree” which includes Robinson Secondary School (a
nationally respected band program in Fairfax County) and James Madison University. Her high-
level ability as a musician is noteworthy.

In her time here, Alison demonstrated kindness and patience with all levels of young musicians
while still maintaining the highest of standards for performance. If students needed additional
help, Alison was there to assist. Her consistent preparation for rehearsal with focused and
practical objectives showed a maturity beyond her years.
