Literature as symbolic representation of time.

"Thick Talk"

Time flies over us but leaves shadow behind. A shadow can come from different shapes and sizes, it can
also described figuratively as the legacy of someone or something. In the context of literature, time is
indispensable, potent, and persisting. Through the element of time, we can uncover truth that lies
beneath literature. It represents history, the present, and even the future through the futuristic vision of
the writer.

Literature allows us to see different lenses of time, it can turn us to poet in one sitting, a lover in one
poem, and a believer in just one book. Going back in time is possible with literature all you need is a
chair, a book, and an open mind to see the beauty of it. If we wish to travel back in time free, literature
is the name of the game.

Problems in literature

"Old but Gold"

Literature is one of the ways to understand and combat the difficult social issues that shape our world.
One of the social issues that literature primarily wrestles with is age/aging. The transformational world
made things more easier and accessible in this light, numerous forms of literature has risen. Time as
inevitable is something beyond the human control, the rapid aging of literature becomes a dilemma in
this present generation. Problems on how to preserve it signals as an alarm to many, but it would not be
possible without appreciation.

Appreciation as the key solution to aging literature would be my first platform. An old song never gets
old when you learned how to appreciate it. Even things that are old remains valuable the moment when
we see the beauty of it. Likewise, literature books could smell old but its meaning and essence will be
the same.
