Bernard Weber. inspired by the seven wonders of the ancient world, set out the initiative
to plan an international competition so that any citizen of the world can select through a
vote such monuments for Medium of the mobile phone with text messages, e-mail,
through certain TV channels
For this, the traveler and aircraft lover, Weber, created, in early 2005, the New Open
World Foundation.
Initially, two hundred (200) constructions, which fulfilled the condition of having been
created by the hand of man until the year 2000, were put to a vote, regardless of their age
or place of origin. In 2005 the list of constructions was reduced to seventy-seven (77), and
at the end of the same year there were only twenty-one (21). The voting ended on July 7th,
2007 (at 07h 07m 07s to be exact), at which time the monuments will be announced to the
world to be the Seven New Wonders of the World in the third millennium.
The most modern constructions, built in the twentieth century were the most
disadvantaged in the results. This was how the Taj Mahal of India stayed on the final list.
Unfortunately, that opaque said wonder is the huge garbage that can be seen in the face
that don’t show the tourist photos of the construction.
